Oh dear lord, this book is so slow. I have read the other three but find myself at a blockade with this one. Spoilers- She lets a stranger in to help her with the restaurant and when the shift is finished she doesn't know this guy from Adam and he gives her an organism (yes I know what I spelled) without touching her below the waist? Uh uh. He baby daddy shows back up after 9 yrs and all of a sudden is going all possessive on her and her first thought is he has come for her child? WHAT? Has he seen the child at all EVER? Paid child support? acknowledged parentage? Its one thing to fear losing custody in a divorce from a father (or mother) that has been there since day one and is a decent hard working member of society. This is just too unrealistic for me. Travis spent years viewing his music as an escape from his life, the memories, the nightmares, all of it. Once he achieved his dream however, it was only a matter of time before his stage persona became it's own sort of trap. But he didn't fully realize that he wanted to be done with it all until he agreed to return to his hometown for their annual Founder's Day Festival. The crappy weather, all the girls and women vying for his alter ego, not for the man he truly is, and the town itself, the one that had scorned him so long ago, it's just too much at once. He thought facing his hometown head on as the famous singer, Travis Turner, would vindicate himself, thereby finally freeing him from his past. He was wrong. He still views it through his own eyes as Travis Stockton.Travis just needs to hide out for the night, have some space, and not deal with his famous side, where everyone wants something from him, or his personal life by staying on his brother, Chase's, ranch.
